On April 10th the AP Chemistry class traveled to the Hershey Medical Center to see how science is applied to the medical setting. Students were able to take part in virtual reality where they could step inside a heart and see how it functions and the blood flows. They were given a CPR challenge and competed to see who was able to keep the best rhythm at the right pace. Students were able to travel to Life Lion where they went over the special challenges that they face while transporting patients and how they treat them midflight. Students were also able to complete virtual appendectomies, intubation, and suturing just like doctors in training.
